CHEERS was officially registered in September, 2006. In its efforts at effectiveness in the core areas of development, CHEERS organized a workshop on Governance themed: "Networking for a Successful Transition" bringing together stakeholders in the 2007 electioneering programme of Nigeria. This effort is to consolidate the gains and further establish democracy in Nigeria.
The vision of CHEERS has been championed through the development, advancement and full exploitation of available competent staff and in sourcing of consultants and technical partners where in the areas of needs and unavailability of staff in the specific area of core competence.
THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF CHEERS AMONGST OTHERS ARE: To devise and implement intervention programmes that will alleviate deficiencies in Education, Health, Economic and Social welfare.
•To source funding from Partners and Implement programmes targeted at improving the lot of women and children.
•To support the sustenance of democracy through advocacy and capacity buildingprogrammes.
•To promote networking, encourage peace building and conflict resolution for sustainable development.
