Corporation KIMIRINA is an Ecuadorian non profit organisation created in 1999 that works on HIV prevention and promotion of responsible sexual behaviours. Kimirina is part of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, a global initiative working on the strengthening of the response from society to the epidemic at international level.
In Ecuador, Kimirina supports over 30 local NGOs and CBOs since 2003. Kimirina aims to reduce the spread and impact of HIV and AIDS by on vulnerable groups, including GLBT, MSM, people living with HIV (PLHIV) and sex workers. It also lobbies policymakers in order to ensure improved rights and access to services to these excluded groups. Kimirina also builds the technical capacities of organisations on HIV and collaborates with key actors in the national and international response to HIV.
La Corporación KIMIRINA organización no gubernamental ecuatoriana, es pionera en el país en la visibilidad y aplicación del Código de Buenas Prácticas para Organizaciones que trabajan en VIH-SIDA. En el 2005 se adhirió como signataria al Código Internacional. En noviembre de 2006 en el marco del Encuentro Nacional de VIH-SIDA: Experiencias exitosas e incidencia política realizó la presentación oficial del Código de Buenas Prácticas, iniciativa Ecuador; 25 organizaciones se suscribieron al Código iniciativa Ecuador, entre ellas varias organizaciones de PVVS, TS, HSH, Trans y ONGs.
